Jesus said: "What you do for the least of these, you do for me." (Mt 25:31-46)

Because of Jesus' words, the Church has always taught a preferential option for the poor. Those experiencing homelessness deserve a place of dignity where they can find a loving community and gather around a good meal. Prodigal Projects is a ministry that offers "Feast Days" which serve as a connecting point...you have the opportunity to serve, share a meal, and pray with people...all together. Prince of Peace young adults want to---need to---be a part of this mission. Please join us for the next Feast Day at OurCalling, and serve our friends in a meaningful and inspiring way. Profess- Grace Amidst Scandal

Weeds among wheat, Jesus tells us, is how the Kingdom will grow. Rip out the weeds, the wheat will come as well. This is just as true of the soil of our own hearts as it is the hierarchy of the Catholic Church. Join Catching Foxes and Prince of Peace as we together process, pray, and discuss how to live in the middle of a Church that seems to have lost all sense of herself, while still professing Jesus Christ as the King of our hearts.

Our Speaker

Catching Foxes tackles life at the intersection of faith and culture with an emphasis of discussion over instruction. The co-host, Luke Carey and Gomer Gormley, met their freshman year in college, and fourteen years later they took a big risk as two, thirty something white males and decided to start a podcast. Millions of downloads later, they still dont quite know what they are doing, but people keep listening.

Profess- Authentic Love: How the 5 Love Languages Impact all our Relationships

Authentic Love, How do we love authentically in today’s world. In Matthew 22: 36-40, “Teacher, which commandment is the law is the greatest? He said to him, “You shall love the Lord , your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all you mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. How do we love God Authentically? And How do we love our Neighbors as ourselves? Learn from scripture how we are called to love. What does love look like? Learn what true sacrifice is not just for the Lord but for us. It’s a quick and easy process to learn it just takes practice.

Profess- Top 10 Things all Catholics should know, but don't!

Fish have to swim. Birds have to fly. Catholics have to go to Mass on Sundays. Once, it all seemed self-evident, not anymore. In an effort to help clarify what the Catholic Church teaches among the many misconceptions the world puts out there, Fr. Edwin will be presenting on the top 10 beliefs that every Catholic should know but sometimes goes misunderstood. More than simply Catholic trivia, these are important concepts that can help us to better understand and profess our beliefs.

If you had 5 minutes to answer the question “Why should I be Catholic?” what would you say? In this [workshop/talk] we will unpack the Gospel message, the central message of Christianity. We’ll talk about the importance of the gospel in evangelization, outline a simple framework for memorizing the basic gospel message, and address the four misconceptions about God that are a barrier to the gospel message. We’ll end with some practical tips for sharing the gospel with others and inviting others into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Cooper received his call to ministry while serving as a camp counselor at a Catholic summer camp during his college years. It was at camp where God ignited his love for music and knowledge of ministry and started Cooper on a journey of drawing youth and adults to know and live the Gospel. After 6 summers, he transitioned into diocesan ministry in Baton Rouge where he spent 10 years, 7 as the director of youth ministry. Soon after arriving in Baton Rouge, Cooper's speaking ministry took off and slowly, but surely, schools, parishes, and other dioceses began to invite Cooper to share his stories, music, and life experiences. After 16 years in formal ministry, he started the next phase in his journey answering the call to go "on the road" full-time where he spent 9 years traveling the country speaking and singing at conferences, rallies, retreats, and missions. Cooper is now the Coordinator of Middle School Ministry at St. Ann in Coppell, TX He is a published artist with Spiritandsong.com and for 8 years was the contemporary music liturgy director for his parish while living in Baton Rouge. Josh Clemmons

Joshua Clemmons, is the former Director of Young Adult Ministry at All Saints Catholic Church and currently the Director of Faith Formation at St. Rita’s in Dallas. Born and raised in Lubbock, Texas, Joshua studied Philosophy and Psychology at Texas Tech University and received his M.A. in Theology from the University of Dallas. Prior to working in campus ministry, Joshua was the Director of Mission and Social Justice for the Diocese of Dallas, the Diocesan Director for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, Catholic Relief Services, the Propagation of the Faith, and parish outreach and Catholic Identity for Catholic Charities of Dallas. He lives in Dallas with his wife, Sarah, and two boys, Zachary and David.

Paul Kolker Paul Kolker was born and raised in Coppell, TX, a (then) small town where he constantly found himself involved in 3 things: his faith, his thoughts, and attempting to be funny. Having awakened to the beauty of his faith in high school, Paul took every opportunity to attend and serve on various retreats, continuing into his college career at Texas A&M. He also pursued his love of comedy and the stage all along the way, often weaving the two together in the form of public speaking. Realizing that life is short and not wanting to delay what he thought was God's call, Paul entered seminary and spent 3 and a half years discerning the possibility of priesthood. After living and praying in places like St. Paul, MN and Rome, Italy, Paul finally discerned that God had other plans for him. He now works in the world of land planning with the continued pursuit of his passion for comedy at Four Day Weekend in Fort Worth and the Dallas Comedy House in...you guessed it...Dallas.

Profess - Sacrificial Giving

We see the commercials all the time on TV: hungry children, victims of abuse, war-torn area or natural disaster footage, and our heart just aches. We text to donate, feel better, and move on. Or we connect with organizations and multi-national non-profits to "move up the stack" and treat the "meta-causes" of poverty and war, working hard but never seeing the fruits of our labor. The problem with charity in America is we give emotionally and abstractly. We rarely give directly to the people. Christian charity is different because it can never be broken from Christian community. The poor and great alike share at the one altar, so too ought we to share our table. This is the difference the gospel makes.

Our Speaker

Michael Gormley Michael has been leading evangelization and ministry efforts for the past 10 years, both as a full-time parish staff member and as a speaker and consultant for parishes, dioceses, and Catholic campus ministries. He has his Undergraduate Degrees in both Philosophy and Theology, and a Masters in Arts in Theology and Christian Ministry, from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio. He currently serves as the Coordinator of Evangelization at St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands. Michael is also the founder and creative director of LayEvangelist.com, and the producer and cohost of a Catholic young adult podcast Catching Foxes, which discusses the collision of Faith and Culture. He is married to his college sweetheart, Shannon, and they have about 1,000 children and get about 3 hours of sleep a night, which is alright by him.

Profess - Why Catholic Bible's are Bigger

There are seven books of the Old Testament that are missing from Protestant and Jewish bibles. Did the Church add these books or did others cut them out? When did this happen and why? What is even in those disputed books? Our speaker will address some of the common myths, mistakes, and misrepresentations about the deuterocanonical books of the bible. Come hear the fascinating story of how we got the Bible and how we know what books belong in it. Bring your questions and bring a friend.

You can register here, and make sure to mention you're from Prince of Peace: Feast Day Volunteer Sign Up Form.
